Quite a few knitters have also used All Seasons Cotton to knit the Apricot Jacket from one of the Rebecca magazines.Sorry, I cannot resist a bargain!
ROWAN - Cindy
What a gorgeous little knit this is!Pattern : Rowan Babies - Cindy
Designer : Kim HargreavesYarn : Rowan Cork - colour Chilly - 4.25 balls
Needle size : 8mm and 5mmCrochet hook : 4mmEasy, easy knitting. An advanced or confident beginner knitter could easily whip this little number up in no time.
The body is knitted, the ruffles are easy crochet - and don't they look great.I've added a front band of eyelet holes, knitted on 5mm, which sits beautifully in the Cork, even before blocking. (The pattern reads a 7mm for the front and neck bands - much too big for the yarn to site nicely). Buttons tomorrow and the 2.5 year old has another gorgeous knit.
EASTER .. so I'm a little late.
BLOGAVERSARY ...
was yesterday. I didn't really forget about it - just took me ages to load the pictures below into blogger.Had a lot of catching up to do as I've been without a camera, but was lucky enough to be given one for Mother's Day! Haven't quite mastered the workings but will no doubt get there.Hoping to complete Cindy over the weekend, so photos early next week.Enjoy the weekend everyone!
NORO Silk Garden - #88
Started a new project to keep an existing smaller one company. This Noro knit is going to be a ribbed jacket with garter stitch cuffs and collar. A friend has just knitted Olive and it's gorgeous, so decided I wanted to use this Silk Garden for a lovely casual knit. I'm knitting the fronts at the same time as I want the colour changes to be relatively lined up. I've discovered if the noro yarn is a darker mix, it doesn't really matter, but on a lighter shade, my preference is a near match. The other project is Cindy from theRowan Babies book, knitted in Cork, colour Chilly. Will post a photo as soon as it is complete. Have done the body and sleeves, just working on the crochet edges, etc.
Kim Hargreaves - Harmony

Kim Hargreaves Kit - HarmonyYarn : Rowan Summer TweedColour : PuffI had to play around a little with the pattern, but only because I'm not as slender as I once was (you know the story). The lace border is the size large, whereas the body of the garment is the size small. I didn't want the lace pulling around my hips - it gently drapes and sits well, meeting at the front as is shown in the pattern photo. The sleeves were adjusted in that they are plain garter stitch. I added lace at the cuff as I thought there was just too much garter stitch, although it looks fabulous on the model, it really didn't suit me.Am I happy with the pattern, yarn, design? Absolutely. I think it's gorgeous and love knitting with Summer Tweed.
NORO Klaralund ...

Been doing a little dyeing ...

Dropping a line
It's Tuesday and I've finally gotten around to visiting my own blog.Been busy with the family and knitting too. Have completed Harmony and on the last few rows of the Noro - Klaralund. No photos as the camera has given up - the sensor has to be replaced before any further photos can be taken. A bit of a pain in that it's half as much as a new camera to repair it. I'm still debating whether it would be better just to purchase a new camera. That means test driving all the different cameras about, weighing up the pros and cons, checking pricing from this place and that. It's all too hard. I put it in the same category as buying a car ... I just can't be bothered. Would someone else please make the decision ... it's all just too hard. The twins are doing well. They are almost 5 kilos each now and of course, just gorgeous little boys. The 2 year old is happy as everyone has made sure she has not been left out of anything. She thinks it's great getting presents for just being there right next to her brothers when they are given gifts. I bought her Alice in Wonderland today and she sat and looked at the pictures for ages before wanting someone to read it to her. She loves books and stories, so will search for the Snugglepot and Cuddlepie books by May Gibbs, as every Aussie kid should have them in their library. Will catch up again soon!
