Spring on Knit Avenue

Spring in Australia is gorgeous. We have our fabulous native birds and our bush. I've mentioned previously we planted grevillea around our home to give a native privacy screen. This year the trees are so high we cannot see our neighbours or fences. Truly wonderful. I'll have flowers in my home spring through summer into autumn.
The purple flowers are Echia.
Not a lot of knitting going on, but playing with some cotton at the moment. Funny stuff pure cotton, some patterns look wonderful, others, hmmmm. No doubt I'll find something that will click!
Off to spend Thursday and Friday with the 2.75year old and the twins.

Cotton Soft

Just completed this cotton knit and I have to say I'm really pleased with the result. It fits me perfectly, which is always a plus when you just throw a knit together.

The Knitty details -

Pattern : something dreamed up for a quick knit

Yarn : Cleckheaton 100% Cotton Soft 8ply (from my stash)

Colour : Duck Egg Blue

120 metres / 50g - 8.5 balls used

3.75mm Addi Turbos

This garment was photographed before blocking (looks a little wrinkled - how naughty!).

Now back to the Remo knit that I abandoned for this quick fix knit. It seems to be taking ages, but will look good when it's done.

Father's Day

We celebrate FsD in Australia today and of course that means a family get-together!

The weather was brilliant, the barbeque was delicious, the family was together.

2.5 year old made Grandad a card ... very cute.

The twins are now 6 months old. Time is flying by, as well, miss 2.5 will be 3 end of November.

I'm so lucky to live close to my daughter and to share in these wonderful celebrations.

Daughter has arranged both families to share christmas with them this year. This means flying people from interstate and overseas to be together. The kids will love it, but I think the adults will enjoy it even more, after all, we're all kids at heart at that time of the year. Right?
