BACK to the future ...

I think this is going to be a fun year participating in the ABC Along 2008 on Ravelry – for those not on Ravelry, this is the blog site knitorious. It’s actually making me stop and think about what I have done and will do this year.

B for me will be turning Back the clock … to when I knitted fair isle - my first love in knitting. I’ve not knitted a great deal of FI these past years, but on joining Ravelry have found a group where people actually do carry on this fabulous craft
Stranded on Ravelry.

2007 found me following a particular blog where one knitter completed 15!!!, yes 15, FI garments in one year for a KAL -
Sweater a Month KAL. Her blog is Stranded on Fair Isle, the owner Marina. I found this site so special it has its own file in my favourites, simply titled Fair Isle.

I now have the desire to once again knit FI. How I’m going to do this is a good question, as I have so many other knits on my ever increasing knit list, but I guess if I spend less time in Ravelry (yeah, like that’s gonna happen!), I’d probably manage a reasonable number of knits for 2008.

I’m half way through a couple of cotton knits, just short sleeved cardigans, so I’ll finish those and post photos both here and on Ravelry. Perhaps then I should begin by completing a UFO I began back in …
what – August! … oh the embarrassment.

I’ll complete the DB fair isle cardigan and then knit a fabulous fair isle I’ve had knitted in my mind for almost twelve months. It will be for my daughter, she’s a tiny size 8 and it will look fabulous on her.

Back to the Future for me … my beloved FI knitting from years ago will be my future knitting for 2008.

ART ... a picture paints a thousand words.

Anticipation, colour, laughter, memories.

A painting for her bedroom wall.

Achievement, realization … there will be more.
