D is for Designers

Nothing in the knitting world quite compares to the release by designers of their new seasons knits.

The anticipation and excitement … the hunting around the net for a sneak peek of what they have dreamt up … there is always someone who has been clever enough to find a loop-hole and discovered a way in to a site for that first exciting peek – and – shared it with the rest of us! Oh how I love that!!!! Or an on-line store that has posted a few “teaser” photos from a book …. oooooohhhhhh – I simply become lost in the whole experience.

Then there is the waiting, waiting, for the actually release of the book or patterns.

Finally, they’re released! We all breathe a sigh of relief, purchase and begin furiously knitting, knitting …. until of course – NEXT TIME – and it begins all over again!

Love the designers in my knitting world!

Martin Storey ... designer ...

Kim Hargreaves and Martin Storey would have to be two of the most fabulous designers for everyday wear.

I’ve just received Martin Storey’s latest three books, summer delights, summer breeze and colour of summer.

summer delights is my favourite … no, wait a minute … summer breeze is lovely too, okay; they are on par - followed closely by colour of summer.

I could knit and wear every garment from summer delights – okay, definitely my favourite book!

Decisions, decisions!

Also purchased Rowan #43 … the less said the better about the latest edition … sigh. Thank goodness Martin Storey has separate releases … how I love his design talents!

No knitting photos, but soon, plenty. Lots of domestic issues and activity presently pounding at our door. February will hopefully see the end of these annoyances and life can return to some sort of normality.

Until then … see you in Ravelry!

As that is what we will be doing shortly – celebrating birthday No. 2 for the twins.

How quickly they grow.
